The Phonix Dance Band

First of all, it’s Phonix, not Phoenix. The band is NOT named after the legendary bird that rises from the ashes. Formed by a handful of students graduated with a degree in jazz from Capilano University, Phonix (NOT Phoenix) plays the well-known and timeless music that we all grew up with. Music that everyone LOVES!

The Phonix are a 9-piece band playing all the funk, soul and R&B classics. This award-winning party band is Vancouver’s premier choice for weddings and corporate events. With GRAMMY, JUNO, and CCMA award-winning members who’ve shared stages with icons like Quincy Jones, Village People, Bif Naked, Jo Jo Mason, and Hey Ocean, their electrifying performances make every moment unforgettable. Their diverse set list spans from 50s classics to today’s Top 40 hits, and you are always ensured a night of non-stop dancing and excitement. Phonix’s music has been compared to the likes of Jamiroquai, Michael Jackson and Tower of Power.

The Phonix pride themselves in knowing a wide range of repertoire: something from the Old School and something from the New School; and ALWAYS something to keep everybody happy and dancing! If you want to hear Top 40 popular music, you simply turn on the radio; but if you want to see the classics done right, there is no other band but The Phonix!
