Ten-String Music celebrates the beauty of the sounds of viola & guitar across a wide range of musical styles. Based in Victoria, BC, longtime musical friends Kay Cochran & Doug Hensley bring dynamic & vibrant playing to every performance.
About Kay:
After studies in Montreal, Paris, Banff and Houston, Kay Cochran joined the Victoria Symphony in 1993. Since then, she has played under the baton of such conductors as Yannick Nezet-Seguin, Christian Kluxen, Kees Bakels, Jeanne Lamon, and Yehudi Menuhin. A founding member of the Galiano Ensemble, she also performs chamber music with the Continuum Consort and Odyssey String Quartet.
About Doug:
Doug has performed with ensembles such as the women’s choir Ensemble Laude, Victoria Philharmonic Choir, Victoria Children’s Choir, CapriCCio, Aventa, Anima, Les Violes de Ste Colombe, and the Civic Orchestra of Victoria. (as guitar soloist in Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez) He is also a member of the contemporary group Big Speck, in which he plays electric guitar and electric bass, The Klez, in which he plays guitar and in the Iskra Violin & Guitar Duo with Tatiana Kostour.
